Henry's focus shifts geographically to the landscape of North Dakota, home to 150 of the nation's 450 nuclear inter continental ballistic missiles built during the Cold War, where he creates a narrative of impending doom through apocalyptic landscapes and pensive portraits shrouded in a false sense of security born of blind patriotism. Through this fictional narrative, Henry imagines a world in which man's technological prowess in creating a doomsday weapon in the name of security paradoxically becomes humanity's ultimate demise. Together their works question mainstream social paradigms that surround American ideals such as manifest destiny and the military industrial complex that are subconsciously paramount to the nation's identity.


Bush captures scenes of oil wells in the parking lot of a McDonald’s drive thru in a dusty town off the 101, where America's insatiable appetites for cheap commodities collide, or a group of tourists in front of a mural depicting logging where they appear as disconnected from the depiction as they are from the natural landscapes that surround them. Bush's inquisitive approach is based on the utopian ideals given to California through pop-culture that he himself imagined before traveling throughout the state himself, only to find a bastardized landscape of amusement parks and shopping malls that perpetuate the void that man has with his natural environment.
