David Polka, Marcos LaFarga, Meryl Pataky, and Sarah Bowser have been hard at work on adornments for the newest addition to the Temescal neighborhood. The brewery, taproom, and beer garden were crowdfunded by over 500 people most of whom are located in the Bay Area. The company’s engagement with the community doesn’t end at funding. Temescal Brewing has and will continue to exist in service of the neighborhood it’s situated in, hosting art shows and other events that bring members of the community together. The opening has offered jobs to four local artists creating permanent installations and murals for the patio and interior of the taproom. Temescal Brewing opened to the public just a few weeks ago on June 11th.

David Polka’s mural of connected city and organic shapes covers a large portion of the outdoor patio.
One wall painted by Marcos LaFarga reads “Refresh” in bold lettering, an appropo addition to the cold beverage establishment.
Sarah Bowser enlarged her friendly paper shapes to make collection of colorful wood cut-outs mounted alongside Meryl Pataky’s neon sign.
Meryl Pataky’s “no jerks” neon piece anticipates the brewery’s local clientele, mirroring the good vibes atmosphere.
